These Paintings of 9,500 Buddhas depict an assembly of countless buddhas that exist in space and time. It is so called because the inscription on the main painting reads, “Enshrinement ○ 9,500 Buddhas ○ Taejoam Hermitage (奉安○九千五百佛○太祖庵).” Currently, a total of ten paintings remain: one at Wibongsa Temple, eight in Geumsansa’s Sacred Treasure Museum, and one at Hyebongwon in Iksan.
These Buddhist paintings depict the Pure Land as described in the Contemplation Sutra and the Sutra of Immeasurable Life. The ornately decorated buddha halls, golden pagodas, the soaring kalavinka birds and jivajiva birds, and the boys and girls playing musical instruments depict the fantastical atmosphere of the Pure Land.
The Paintings of 9,500 Buddhas at Taejoam Hermitage of Wibongsa Temple were created with funds donated by over 200 donors. The paintings were commissioned to be done by two major monk-painters, Suryong Gijeon from Haeinsa Temple and Chundam Bong-eun—known as the teacher of Geumho Yakhyo (1846―1928), a monk-painter at Magoksa Temple—along with their 18 disciples. These Buddhist paintings are truly unique in composition, unprecedented in Korea.

威凤寺太祖庵九千五百佛图表现了存在于空间和时间中的无数佛的样子，是“多佛会图”。主佛图的画记中记载着“奉安○九千五百佛○太祖庵”，因此被称为九千五百佛图。目前留存的共有10幅，一幅在威凤寺，八幅在金山寺圣宝博物馆，一幅在益山慧峰院。
这幅佛画描绘了《观无量寿经》、《无量寿经》中描述的极乐净土。装饰华丽的殿阁和金色宝塔、飞天的迦陵频伽和共命鸟、演奏乐器的童男童女营造出极乐净土的幻想氛围。
凤寺太祖庵九千五百佛图由200多名施主共同参与，聘请海印寺僧侣繡龙琪铨、麻谷寺画僧锦湖若效(1846~1928)的老师春潭奉恩以及他们的18名弟子共同彩绘而成。该佛画是我国没有先例的非常独特的构图形式。

威鳳寺太祖庵の「九千五百仏図」は、空間と時間に存在する無数の仏の姿を表現した多仏会図である。主仏図の画記には「奉安○九千五百仏○太祖庵」と記されており、これがこの仏画の名称の由来となった。現在、合計10幅が現存しており、そのうち1幅は威鳳寺に、8幅は金山寺聖宝博物館に、そして1幅は益山の慧峰院に所蔵されている。
この仏画は『観無量寿経』および『無量寿経』に描かれた極楽浄土を描いたものである。華やかに装飾された殿閣や金色の宝塔、空を舞う迦陵頻伽と共命鳥、楽器を演奏する童子・童女たちが、幻想的な浄土世界を演出している。
威鳳寺太祖庵の「九千五百仏図」は、200人を超える信者たちの寄進があった。海印寺の僧である繡龍琪銓、そして麻谷寺の画僧であり、錦湖若効（1846〜1928）の師として知られる春潭奉恩を招いて、その弟子18人とともに制作した。この仏画は韓国では造成されたことのない、非常に特異な構成を持つものである。
