This World’s Tusita Heaven, Geumsansa Temple on Mt. Moaksan

The common people longed for a hero to emerge who would save them during times of turmoil. Spreading during times of social chaos, faith in Maitreya was embraced by the oppressed and marginalized.

Faith in Maitreya flourished, especially during the late Unified Silla period when refugees from Baekje were being oppressed, as well as: during the late Goryeo period when powerful families were exploiting commoners, after the Japanese invasion during the Imjin War, and during the Japanese colonial period. Throughout all these periods, Mt. Moaksan served as a stronghold for Maitreya faith.

老百姓盼望着在浑浊时期出现并拯救众生的英雄。弥勒信仰在社会动荡时期扩散，受到被统治阶层以及弱势群体的欢迎。

在百济遗民被压迫的统一新罗末期、权门世族经常搜刮的高丽末期、壬辰倭乱以后和日本帝国主义强占时期，弥勒信仰都非常盛行。所以无论在任何时期，母岳山都成为了中心所在。

民衆は混沌とした時代に、衆生を救う英雄の出現を切望していました。弥勒信仰は社会が混乱する時期に広まり、被支配層や疎外された人々に広く受け入れられました。

百済の遺民が抑圧されていた統一新羅末期、権門勢族による搾取が続いた高麗末期、さらには壬辰倭乱の後や日本の植民地時代においても、弥勒信仰は大いに盛んになりました。いかなる時代においても、母岳山はその信仰の拠点でありました。
